Comtech Receives 9M Dollar Blue Force Tracking Order

Comtech Telecommunications announced Sunday it has received orders totaling $9.2 million for its mobile satellite data communications transceivers. The orders are for the supply of Comtech's Model 2011 transceivers.

The transceivers are integral to the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below - Blue Force Tracking (FBCB2-BFT) program, a battle command real-time situational awareness and control system. These transceivers are critical in maintaining communications when line-of-sight channels are unavailable.

The orders were received on the company's Movement Tracking System, or MTS, contract with the U.S. Army. Total orders received to date against the $418.2 million MTS contract increased to $258.0 million.

"We are extremely pleased to have received these most recent orders," said Fred Kornberg, president and CEO of Comtech. "The U.S. Department of Defense's continuing commitment to the Blue Force Tracking program is tangible evidence of the critical role our technology plays in meeting the communications requirements of today's U.S. military."

Orbital To Supply Six Satellite Payloads For ORBCOMM

Orbital Sciences announced Thursday it has received a $17 million contract from its subsidiary ORBCOMM Inc. to supply six data communications satellite payloads. The contract also includes options for two additional payload sets. If exercised, the options would bring the total contract value to $21.5 million, the company said in a statement.
